A petite pied-à-terre designed to live large, with glamour, ingenuity and sweeping views.
This jewel box may have been small, but with sweeping views of Paris fromthree spectacular balconies, it needed to live big. We relocated the kitchen, added a second bathroom and created a circular dining room that is as beautiful as it is efficient. Inside, we matched the drama beyond the windows with dark-stained floors, sculptural antiques and statement mirrors. The result is charming, glamorous and just a little sexy, with a subtle nod to the building’s Art Deco history.
“People often think that dark floors make a space feel darker. But actually it’s quite the opposite. Dark floors can be even more luminous, when paired with light walls and reflected light. We wouldn’t do it everywhere, but here it works beautifully.”
